Joan Thompson

CUMBERLAND- Joan (Conrad) Thompson, 78, of Cumberland passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at the Chamberlan Graceful Living. Born in Frostburg on December 17, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Alexander Conrad and Iola (Morgan) Conrad. She is preceded in death by her husband John O. Thompson, sister Alexis Lemmert, and brother in law Thomas Rankin. Joan was a member of the Welsh Memorial Baptist Church and she volunteered with the Red Cross. She is survived by sisters Shirley Barry and husband Joe of Wachapreague, VA, and Isabel Rankin of Frostburg. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A graveside service will be conducted at Frostburg Memorial Park on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Max Greenfield officiating. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
