Margaret Bartlett

LaVale- Margaret Bartlett, 84, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at UPMC Western Maryland. Born in Cumberland on February 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Charles Bartlett and Frances Matilda (Crowe) Bartlett. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Frances and Mary Ellen Bartlett.

Margaret was a member of Friends Aware since 1981 and she lived in her current house since 1984. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Church and Our Lady of the Mountain Parish at St. Patrick’s Church. She also attended Wesley Chapel.

Margaret enjoyed bowling, singing, and dancing. She loved animals dearly and collecting pictures that went with her everywhere. Margaret never knew a stranger. Through the years, Margaret touched many people’s lives, including the staff – Melody, Taylor, Shae, Alea, Shawnta, Kamini, Stephanie and many, many more and her housemates at Friends Aware – Mary, Lisa, and Netty. Margaret made the world a better place.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery.
