Betty Raynes

Betty Jean Raynes, 84, of Frostburg, died Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in the UMPC Hospital, Cumberland, Maryland. Born November 27, 1936, in Lynchburg, Va., she was the daughter of the late James E. McGuire and Elizabeth (Viar) McGuire.

She was preceded in death by her husband James R. Raynes in 2006. Mrs. Raynes served as a home maker and former resident at Mountain City Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.

Surviving are one son James Michael Raynes of Frostburg, MD.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, 60 W. Main Street, Frostburg, Maryland 21532 on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 from 12 to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted following the visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. David Dayhoff officiating.

Interment will occur at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone, Maryland.
