Clarence Hochard

FROSTBURG- Clarence Foster Hochard, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at UPMC Western Maryland. Born December 7, 1949, he was the son of the late George Albert and Rosealine “Boots” (Hughes) Hochard. He is also preceded in death by his wife Beverly Ann Hochard.

Clarence was a member of Potters Place in Eckhart and he was one of the founding members of the Frostburg Area Ambulance Service. He also started the IV treatments on the ambulance service along with Bill Rafferty. Clarence was a Registered Nurse and started the home hospice care. Clarence was the first male nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital. He also worked for the ambulance service at Sowers Funeral Home.

He is survived by son Chris Hochard and wife Marni, grandchildren, Colby Twigg and Tyler Hochard, and brother William Hochard, Sr. and wife Carolyn.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. with a funeral service following at 4 p.m. with Pastor Ken Rafferty officiating. Masks will be required.

Inurnment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
