Glencoe – Darlene Kay Lynch, 69, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on December 22, 1955, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late David Swauger and Myrtle (Harbel) Swauger. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jerry (Swauger) Lancaster.
Upon graduating from X-ray school, Darlene worked at Memorial Hospital, the Imaging Center, and UPMC. During her career of over 40 years, she made many lasting friendships. She had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and especially enjoyed kayaking, bike riding, bird watching and photography, activities that brought her great joy. Darlene also loved playing games with her grandchildren and bowling with friends.
Darlene was a devoted servant of Christ and a member of Lavale Baptist Church. She was always sharing the gospel and witnessing to all those she encountered. She found comfort in verses such as 2 Timothy 4:7 – “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” She now rests in the arms of the Savior, rejoicing in the presence of the Almighty.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Dennis, and her beloved sons, Charles Lynch (Hollie), Sam Lynch (Megan), and Max Lynch (Chezney). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Mason, Callie, Emersyn, and foster grandchildren. Her sisters, Jo Bender (Rick) and Doris Gertler (Alan) as well as brother-in-law, Owen Lancaster, and several nieces and nephews. Lastly, her beloved dogs, Ava and Rio.
