Dorothy Lewis

ECKHART-Dorothy Elizabeth Lewis, 94, passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Egle Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on March 16, 1927 in Eckhart. She was the daughter of the late Thomas W. Lewis and Florence (White) Lewis.

She is also preceded in death brother, Ralph “Buck” Lewis, sister, Martha Brown Hostetler, and nephew, Butch Lewis.

Dorothy was a member of Eckhart Baptist Church and she had worked at the Cumberland blouse factory as a seamstress.

She is survived by nieces, Linda K. Carter of Pocahontas; Bobbie Jean Holsinger and husband Bill of Frostburg; Mary Martha Willison and husband Jim of Frostburg; nephews Ronald Labor and wife Anna of Frostburg; and Thomas Lewis of Michigan; and numerous great- nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Saturday, May 15, 2021 from 1 to 3 p.m. with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. with Rev. David Sandvick officiating. Interment will be in Eckhart Cemetery.
