Edward Joseph Thompson

 Edward Joseph Thompson, 81, of Frostburg passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born in Topeka, Kansas, Edward was the son of Layton and E. Margaret Thompson.

Edward had a full and active life. He was involved in the Boy Scouts and took great pride in being part of the organization. Additionally, he had a deep love for singing and was an avid member of three Barbershop choruses and the church choir. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Frostburg. He worked in the college theater department.

Edward is survived by his  wife, Cynthia Thompson, his sons Joseph Edward Thompson and his wife Chanda of Shady Grove, PA; Michael Layton Thompson and his wife Rebecca of Waynesboro, PA; as well as his granddaughters Kayla, Alexis, Molly, Braelyn, Leah, and Delaney. He is also survived by his sisters Marilyn Washington, Betty Wing and her husband Steve, and Nancy Thompson-Flikkema.

A memorial service honoring Edward's life will be held  at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12 noon.
