Edwin Stark

February 14, 1938 — February 27, 2019

Frostburg

Edwin LeRoy Stark was born Feb 14, 1938, in Bernice Oklahoma, and found eternal rest on Feb 27, 2019. He was the older of two siblings, born to Raymond and Clara Stark. His father worked construction and Ed grew up in various towns in Western Kansas but considered Logan, KS his home. After graduating Logan High School with the Class of 1956, he briefly attended Fort Hays State University until opportunity knocked in south Texas. After a short time in Texas he returned to Logan and married Nancy Atkinson. To this union 4 children were born, Debra, Boyd, Scott and Pam. Ed and Nancy raised their family in the small town of Logan where they owned the grocery store. Ed was a tireless worker who built a thriving business. When he wasn’t working he could be found at one of the never-ending school events supporting his children’s love of music and sports. The family was also active in the Catholic Church where all of them sang in the choir. There were many happy times but unfortunately Ed and Nancy separated later in life. He returned to Texas where he established a new business selling guns, which he did until retiring in 2013. After retirement he moved east to Frostburg, MD to be with family. While there he met Pauline Ritchey.  Pauline brought a new joy to his life and was his constant companion to the end. He will be missed greatly, and remembered fondly for his ability to always have a joke to lighten ones day. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Raymond (Curt), ex-wife Nancy, and daughter Deb. He is survived by his children Boyd, Pam, Scott and wife Erin; grandchildren Jaret and wife Trish, Jason, Courtney, John, Emma, Quinn, Will, great-granddaughter Mila, and sister in law Kathy. Ed’s wishes were to be cremated with burial at a later date in the Lynn Creek Cemetery Berryton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to the Frostburg Heights Apartment activity funds (checks payable to Frostburg Heights Apartments) 100 Honeysuckle Lane, Frostburg, MD 21532.
