Erma M. (Clise) Anderson, 86, of Frostburg, went to be with her Lord on Monday, June 15th, 2026, at Goodwill Nursing Home.
Born July 8th, 1939, in Frostburg, MD, she was the daughter of James and Cora Clise.
She was preceded in death by her late husband Harold F. Anderson.
Surviving are two daughters, Kimberly Sturtz, of Grantsville, and Brenda Mulligan and husband Michael, of Cumberland; five grandchildren, Ashley Uphold, Chelseyanne Piper, Destaney Moyer, Alexander Mulligan, and Ryan Mulligan; nine great-grandchildren, Charlie “Salem” Piper, Eowyn Piper, Arianwen “Andy” Piper, Logan Uphold, Elisabeth Uphold, Marie Uphold, Diana Uphold, Jace Uphold, and Anakin Moyer; three siblings, James Clise Jr., Sandra Winters, and Norman Clise; and several nieces and nephews.
Erma graduated from Beall High School and went on to Catherman’s Business School before becoming employed at Frostburg State University, where she worked until she was married. During her marriage, she devoted herself to raising her family and took great pride in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church alongside her husband. In her free time, Erma enjoyed tending her garden and flowers, caring for her home, and spending time with her family. She loved visiting local farmers markets, shopping in the community, and vacationing at the beach. She was also an avid animal lover, especially when it came to cats, and over the years opened her home and heart to feline companions. Family was always her greatest priority, and she never hesitated to offer a listening ear and support to those who needed it.
The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff of Goodwill Nursing Home for the compassionate care, kindness, and support provided to Erma throughout her stay.
Friends and family will be received at Sowers Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 17th, 2026, at noon. Service is to follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating.
