Everett Warne

March 16, 1921 — February 11, 2016

FROSTBURG-Everett W. Warne, 94, of Frostburg passed away Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the WMHS Frostburg Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Avilton, MD on March 16, 1921. He was the son of the late Stanley and Florence Z. McKenzie Warne. He was a graduate of Beall High School and he attended the University of Maryland. He is preceded in death by his wife Marguerite (Taccino) Warne, his son, Michael Warne , who died in May of 2015, and son in law, John "Jack" Robison. Everett was employed at Frostburg Auto Co. ,Green Chevrolet and Oldsmobile and Morton Chevrolet and Oldsmobile Co. He was partner and owner of Clarysville Motors in Clarysville, MD. He was an automotive instructor at the Grantsville Trade School and Northern High School in Accident. He served in WWII with First Army with Rank of Sergeant in the European Operation. He was awarded five Battle Stars. He served in the Invasion of France, Battle of the Bulge Ardennes Rineland in Central Europe. Everett was a member of the Frostburg Museum, a Life member of the Elk Lodge #470, Life member of the American Legion Farrady Post 24, Life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, a member of the Antique Automobile Club, Queen Region Club and the Model H Ford Club of America. He is survived by his daughter, Victoria Ann Robison, daughter in law, Ann Warne, grandchildren, Lorie Burdock and husband Jack, Michael Warne and wife Holly, Julie Kostovick and husband Matthew, and Megan Gaumer and husband Earl. Also, surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, brother Russell Warne, sisters, Helen Chaney and Darlene Poorbaugh, and brother and sister in law, Joseph and Betty Mills. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
