FROSTBURG- Francis W. "Butch" Elliott , 83, of Frostburg died suddenly on Friday, February 5, 2016 at his home. Born in Mt. Savage on September 1, 1932, he was the son of the late George Henry Elliott and Evelyn (Cuthbertson) Elliott. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Roxanne Elliott and sister, Elizabeth Jones. Butch was retired from ABL Hercules where he worked for over 35 years. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the Destroyer. He was a member of the Frostburg United Methodist Church for 60 years. Butch was a member of Mt. Lodge #99 A.F. and A. M., the Ali Ghan Shrine Club, Past President of the Ali Ghan Motor Corp, and 1st Wagon Master of the Ali Ghan Camper's Club. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carolee "Corky" Elliott, his son. W. Kenneth Elliott of Frostburg; grandchildren, Lauren Elliott, Autumn Bevans, Jimmy Bevans, and Jordan Bevans; great -grandchildren, Dominic Bevans, and Evangeline R. Bevans. Also surviving are sisters, Darlene Etheridge of Virginia Beach; and Geraldine Raley and husband, Gene of Shippensburg, PA. In accordance with Butch's wishes, his body will be cremated. Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5 to 8 p.m. Mt. Lodge #99 A.F. and A.M. and the Ali Ghan Motor Corp will hold memorial services on Monday at 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jennifer Webber officiating. American Legion Post 24 will accord military honors at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery at Rocky Gap at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ali Ghan Transportation Fund, PO Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21502.
