George Emory Scott

George Emory Scott, Jr. 78, of Frostburg passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Sterling Care.

Born June 23, 1947 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late George Emory Scott, Sr. and Pauline (Wiliams) Scott. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann Scott.

George served his country as a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He was a Beall Class of 1966 graduate. George served in the Frostburg Police Dept. for 35 years. He liked watching westerns and playing board games with his grandkids.

He is survived by two children Katrina Scarpelli (Bill) and Andrew Scott (Michell), five grandchildren, Alysha, Jake (McKayla), Bethany, Alishia (Corey) Rexrode, and Courtney (Jamel) Evans, and ten great-grandchildren, Brad, Parker, Landyn, Sonny, Ben, Harper, Kensley, Brit, Madisyn, and Maisie; and sister Sylvia Twigg.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service following at 1 p.m. with Rev. Gary Barkley officiating.

Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park where American Legion Farrady Post 24 will accord military honors.
