Geraldine Finzel

PENNSYLVANIA- Geraldine Ann Finzel (Jerri), 87, passed away on May 31, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Littlestown, PA surrounded by her loving family. Born in Eckhart, MD on April 29, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Dorothy (Chambers) Carter. Aside from her parents, Jerri is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Buck), and son, Pat; sisters, Peg, Mary, Dottie, and Rose; brother, Tommy; and son-in-laws, Dave Underwood and Greg Wilson.

Long time member of the Carroll County Community, Jerri retired from MD Sweetheart Cup after 34 years only to move on to employment at Walmart, for 18 years; Jerri is survived by her loving children, Joseph Finzel and Sherry of PA, Ann Wilson of PA, and Barbara Underwood of MD; grandchildren, Michael (Holli), Joe (Kelley), Michelle (Hafey), and Jodi; great grandchildren, Brady, Brett, Olivia, London, Hudson, Brooklyn, Chase, and Bentley; sisters, Bernie Murray, Jean Darnell, and Chris Booth;  also, many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, Frostburg, MD, on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at Diving Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Friday, June 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father C. Doug Kenney as Celebrant.

Interment will be in Finzel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Jerri’s wish was that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for children.
