John Seib, Jr.

KEYSER- John J. “Joe” Seib, Jr., 72, of Keyser passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born August 17, 1949 in Frostburg, he was the son of the late John and Catherine (Leake) Seib. He also is preceded in death by mother-in-law, Erma Skidmore, and father-in-law, Ervin Skidmore.

Joe served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked at Kelly Springfield Tire Company and retired from PPG after more than 39 years of service

He is survived by his wife of almost 51 years, Kathyrn (Skidmore) Seib, children, Tina Rohrbaugh (George), Cindy Mauk (Eric), and Kathy Jo Murphy (Greg), grandchildren, Michael Rohrbaugh, Tiffany Rohrbaugh, Levi Rohrbaugh, Shane Montgomery, Jr., Kaylee Montgomery, Ashton Murphy, Britt Seib, and Danny Quinnell, 8 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and fur baby, Snuggles. Also, siblings, brother, Frank Seib (Lourdes), Liberty Hill, Texas; sisters, Cathy McKenzie, Frostburg; Shari McFarland (Kenny), Hampstead, NC; Mary Hildreth (Wayne), Rawlings, Janet Duvall (Andy), Sneads Farrey, NC, and brother-in-law, Kenny Skidmore, Frostburg; and sister-in-law Bonnie Fadeley, Frostburg.

Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will take place on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Divine Mercy Parish at St. Michael’s Catholic Church with Father Doug Kenny as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap. Cumberland American Legion  Post 13 will accord military honors.
