Joseph R. (Joe) Taylor, 82, of Frostburg passed away peacefully at home, holding his wife’s hand, on August 27, 2020. Born July 31, 1938 in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Robert J. and Lola (Mease) Taylor. He was predeceased by his first wife Pat, his sister, Susie, his mother-in-law, Ann Storm, whom he called Mother from the first day he met her, brother-in-law, Richard Belcher, and his loyal canine companions, Hannah, Pepe, Maggie, Rhett, and Finn. Joe was a 1956 graduate of Fort Hill High School and served three years in the U.S. Army after joining upon graduation. He spent 20 years at Kelly-Springfield and 21 years with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in Mt. Savage, retiring in December 2009. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Kathy (Storm) Taylor, son Jason Taylor, daughters Jodie Littleton and husband Sean, Jessica Taylor, and three grandchildren. Also surviving are brother David Taylor, sisters Peach Hansel and husband Ronnie, and Cookie Weimer, along with in -laws Fred Storm, Harry Storm and wife Kendall, and Carlinda Belcher, whom he regarded as siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was a member of Zion United Church of Christ, Frostburg. Per his wishes, he was cremated. A private service will be held on a beautiful fall day. Memorials in Joe’s name may be made to Zion UCC, 160 E. Main Street, Frostburg.
