FROSTBURG- Mary (Bingaman) Kennell, 84, passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Goodwill Retirement Community. Born January 19, 1937 in Avilton, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. Bingaman and Irene (Weimer) Bingaman. She is also preceded in death by her husband William Kennell in 2013, brother, Duane (Bing) Bingaman, sisters ,Wilda Ann Fike and Angela Brown, and step granddaughter, Mellissa McAteer.
Mary served her country in the U.S. Marine Corps. She worked at the A & P market and was a member of St. Michael’s Church. Bird watching and ceramics, along with spending time with her family were her favorite pastimes. Mary loved the outdoors and yard work.
Mary is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Meyers and husband James, Avilton; a son, Michael Kennell and wife Cynthia, Pocahontas, PA; grandchildren, Samuel Kennell, Blake Meyers, Sydney Kennell, Addison Kennell, and Dayton Kennell, great-grandchildren, Gemma Santa, Haven Meyers; and sisters, Elaine P. Vislosky, Thelma M. Underwood, Carol I. Thomas, Rosalee White, Deborah M. Weber, and Marlene K. Nicholson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family wanted to thank the staff at the Goodwill Assisted Living and Nursing Home for such great care over the past 6 years.
Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted following the visitation at 1 p.m. with Father Ed Hendricks officiating.
Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery.
