Porter LaClair

FROSTBURG- Porter William LaClair ,78 , of Frostburg passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born March 7, 1937 in Uniontown, PA, he was the son of the late Porter Brownfield LaClair and Oma Kathryn (Victor) LaClair. He is preceded in death by sisters, Shirley McFarland, Elizabeth Stearns, a brother, James LaClair, and a granddaughter, Angela Acosta. Porter was retired from P.P.G. and worked for Scotty's Security. He was a member of Eckhart Baptist Church and he helped with janitorial maintenance work at the church. He was also a member of the Savage Mountain Hunting Club. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia (Spaw) LaClair, his son, Jeffrey LaClair and wife Chris of Black Forest Colorado; Ambra Hostetler and husband Greg of Frostburg, Jean Ann Minnick and husband , Robbie of Cumberland; grandchildren, Aaron LaClair, Ronald Gould, Josh Minnick, Michael Hostetler, and Kathryn Hostetler, great grandchildren, Cameron Acosta, Justin Acosta, and Frankie Spriggs. Also, surviving are sisters Joyce Hunt of Detroit and Darlene LaClair of Uniontown. In accordance with Porter's wishes , his body will be cremated. A memorial service will be held on Friday , February 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Eckhart Baptist Church with Pastor Matthew Eichhorn officiating. Friends will be received at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Frostburg Memorial Park.
