Shirley Adeline (Fatkin) Hoadley, Powell, 87, of Cumberland, MD, passed away on August 3, 2023.

Born January 20, 1936 at home in Loartown, MD, she was the daughter of the late John McFarland (Johnny Mac) Fatkin and Mary Frances (Blubaugh) Fatkin. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband whom she married in 1953 Harold D. Hoadley, and second husband whom she later married James Powell. Her brothers John Francis Fatkin (Deloris), Kenneth Osborn Fatkin (Marie), and sister Anna Elizabeth Hitchins (Stanley).

She was a graduate of Beall High School Class of 1953, she was employed by the A & P Tea Co. and JCPenney’s, she was also a Mary Kay Cosmetics consultant for many years. She was a lifelong member of Vale Summit UMC.

Shirley is survived by her daughter Mary Ann & husband Bob Lemmert, Cumberland, MD, her grandson Robbie Lemmert & wife Alyse of Martinsburg, WV & their daughters Juniper & Remington, Granddaughter Miranda Kaye Walker & husband Corey Cumberland, MD & Mirandas’s children Emma & Landon White. Also, her stepchildren that she loved and considered as her own, Karen Krepps & husband Bob, George Powell & life partner Carol, and Kevin Powell & wife Vivian, several step grandchildren one which is sadly deceased, Sean Powell, & several step great grandchildren that she considered her own.

A great niece Stephanie Kaye Beeman & husband Bob that she thought the world of & their sons Ben, Sam & Jake. A niece Stacey McKenzie & husband Ron & their two children Issy & Noah, her two nephews David & Ken Fatkin. Also, a lifelong friend Susie (McKinley) Snider & husband Russ, and dear friend Linda Conner & husband Jim. Her neighbor Owen Dorsey who has been a blessing for his help. Her Domino playing friends Charlene, Carol, Wilma, Pam, Anna, Pat & Kay who she dearly loved.

Also, to mention her caregivers that she was so blessed to have and did an amazing job with her home care. Mary Jo, Jennifer, Pam, Kelly, Rose & Diane.

Per wishes, Mrs. Powell will be cremated and no service. She would like everyone if they will to take the time and listen to the following songs and think of her. No Scares In Heaven, An Evening Prayer, The Haven of Rest, I Can Only Imagine & On The Wings Of A Snow White Dove.
