Shirley Virginia (Hager) Miller, 82, of Frostburg, went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2023. She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Irvin Miller. Born October 14, 1940, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Edna (Lashbaugh) Hager and Frank Hager of Borden.
Shirley worked various jobs outside the home as a young woman, but became a stay-at-home mom to care for her children. Once they were able to fend for themselves, Shirley returned to work as a housekeeper and later a waitress. She then became the loving caregiver for her grandchild.
Shirley is survived by her four children, Rebecca Brenneman, of Frostburg, Fred Miller and wife Laurie of Wilmington, OH, Laurel Miller of Frostburg, and Sharon Koser and husband Brett of Danville, PA.; six grandchildren Morgan (Brenneman) Turner and husband Ryan, Michaela Brenneman, Kristyn Miller, Garret Miller, Brianne Koser, and Luke Koser; four great grandchildren, Everleigh, Olivia, Wil, and Owen; close friend and sister-in-law Velma (Bunny) Miller; and her beloved pup, Brutus, a.k.a. “My Boy” who was her loyal protector, favorite foot warmer, snack sharer, and snuggle buddy. She also leaves behind Jonathan, Jared, John, and Tracie whom she leaned on and loved like family.
She was a caring mother, loving Mammy, and kind friend. Shirley could usually be found in the comfort of her recliner, watching her favorite crime show, and playing word games on one of her iPads. In her last days, Shirley was at home surrounded by her closest family and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Hospice of Garrett County for the loving care they provided our mother/grandmother.
At the request of Mrs. Miller, her body will be cremated, and there will be no services
