Walter Kenneth Elliott

September 6, 1957 — June 3, 2023

Frostburg

Walter Kenneth Elliott, age 65, passed away at his home on June 3, 2023, after a short battle with cancer, leaving behind a complex and diverse legacy.

Born on September 6, 1957, Walter was the son of Francis “Butch” Elliott and Carolee “Corky” Elliott. He grew up in Frostburg, a graduate of the 1975 Beall High School class. He was a surprisingly good athlete: wrestling and football.

In his earlier days, friends affectionately knew him as “Wacco,” a nickname that reflected his vibrant personality, actions, and sense of humor. He had a passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles, enjoying the freedom and thrill they offered. He also enjoyed time at Deep Creek Lake, boating in the summer and skiing in the winter. Wacco was a character who liked to have a good time.  Many stories are still told about parties at “the farm” in Pennsylvania.

Professionally, Kenny once had a successful career as a Realtor and Appraiser, working at the family business prior to an early retirement.

Preceded in death by his sister, Roxanne “Roxce” Bevans, and his father, Francis “Butch” Elliott.

Survived by his mother, Carolee “Corky” Elliott, daughter Lauren Elliott, niece Autumn Bevans, nephews James “Jimmy” Bevans and Jordan Bevans, as well as an uncle, aunts, cousins, and extended family. Kenny's memory will live on in the hearts of his family.

A service will be held on June 24, 2023, at 11 am at the Frostburg United Methodist Church with Pastor Kyle Durbin officiating. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends, and family to come together, share their memories, and find solace in one another's presence.

May he find eternal peace in his next journey, and may his loved ones find comfort in the moments they shared with him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ali Ghan Transportation Fund, PO Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21502.
