FROSTBURG, Catherine L. Goldsworthy,95, died Saturday, March 19, 2022, at Mountain City Center Nursing and Rehab. Born July 22, 1926, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Genevieve (Winters) Goldsworthy. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Goldsworthy, sister, Geraldine O’Brien, nephews, Richard Goldsworthy, John Goldsworthy, and Terry Goldsworthy and his wife Julie.

She graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School, Ursuline Academy, Cumberland, Trinity College, Washington, and received her master’s in Education at Frostburg University, Catherine taught at Beall Jr. High School until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Sodality, a Volunteer for Meals on Wheels, and Red Cross Blood Bank.

Catherine is survived by great niece, Elizabeth Welsh, great nephew, Richard Lee Goldsworthy, great -great nephews, Matthew Goldsworthy, Isaiah Welsh, Weston Welsh, and Colton Welsh. Also, surviving, John Goldsworthy’s wife Jennifer and Richard Goldsworthy’s wife Carol.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery with Father Ed Hendricks as Celebrant.
