William “Bill” Lawrence Rafferty, 80, of Frostburg, went home May 20th, 2022, to his LORD and Savior. Born April 13, 1942, he was the son of the late Norbert & Elsie (Kyler) Rafferty. Bill served in the United States Navy on the USS Forrestal. He was an electrician at CSX for almost 30 years. Bill had a calling not just to serve his country & community but most importantly his Lord Jesus Christ. Bill served the community by being a part of local Rescue Squads primarily in Frostburg but also in LaVale & Georges Creek for more than 30 years, along with teaching through the American Red Cross. In Bill’s service to Christ, he started at the Frostburg Church of the Brethren where he found his calling & passion to coach youth league basketball. The last service opportunity came when Bill was an active member of his congregation, The Potter’s Place Church and served as director at the Frostburg Interfaith Food Pantry. He did this until he was needed at home to care for the love of his life, his wife Barbara.
Bill was committed to his family who wait for the day until they see him again in Heaven. Sons, Ken Rafferty (Suzanne) and Jim Rafferty. The absolute treasure of his life, his grandchildren Rusty Rafferty, Sarah Rafferty and Elijah Rafferty.
